> An afterword as introduction
Since July 2011 with the collaborators we have just wrote in the previous page, We started working on a residence project itinerant for young people coming from Italy, France and Holland, titled ‘Theater for L’Aquila’. The main objective of this project was:The awareness and the partecipation of young people through a Theatrical project, compared to important issues, still very present, as the earthquake of 2009 in L’Aquila, thus encouraging a sense of collective consciousness aimed to “not forget”. Project Theater for L’Aquila had also the goal to raise si prefiggeva inoltre di reperire
Economic resources to support paths of socialization and training to Theater for children coming from schools in L’Aquila.
Last February,in collaboration with the Alderman for Education of the Province of Reggio Emilia Ilenia Malavasi, we made a visit to L’Aquila Comunity, there we talked with people, with the local authorities, building , in this way, a sort of platform in which we could build this project to remember what happened to L’Aquila in 2009.
6th April 2009 – 3.32 L’Aquila shakes
We couldn’t know what , only 3 months later, would be happened and still is in Emilia.
20th May 2012 – 4.05 L’Emilia shakes
29th May 2012, the community of L’ Aquila active mobile columns and civil protection in our area to come and help displaced people, as people coming from Emilia did for them.
Once again the link between “Emilia – L’Aquila” is consolidated.
So we asked ourselves how to go on with our project: we didn’t want to abandon the idea of “remembering” what happened to L’Aquila, but in the meanwhile, we cannot and we don’t want be only external observers of what happens here, in Emilia.
Thus we have decied to go on, changing the project, its goals and the title
“Emilia – L’Aquila, Yes, here we are”

It’s a cultural project, a theatrical residence with a itinerant performance. 32 young people coming from Italy, France and Holland will meet them in Reggio Emilia to do a performance ( “Yes, here we are” will be the title of the show). After 5 days of being in Reggio Emilia, the company , always follone by italian and foreign teachers, will leave to L'Aquila city.
During the trip, there will be a stop in the municipality of Reggiolo, one of the most damnaged commons in our province, to replicate the performance,a staying of the company in Jesi in which during rehearsals and small performances, will be made aware of the area and will raise funds for paying entrance fees and free offers of possible audience.
After that, we will arrive in L'Aquila city where we will stay from the afternoon of 18th July (Wednesday) to 20th July morninig (Friday) with a show on 19th evening (Thursday) at 9.00 p.m.
The proceeds of the performances will be donated in equal parts for emergences in Emilia and for reconstruction of l’Aquila.
Main goals:
1. Consciousness and partecipation of young people through a theatrical project, according to what happened in Emilia in this period and according to what happened in 2009 in L’Aquila, in so moving a sense of participation and collective consciousness aimed to “never forget”.
2. To create a performance to show in a municipality of the Province of Reggio Emilia and in L’Aquila aimed to citizenship to offer a moment of “lightness” per offrire un momento di “leggerezza” in so much distress and fear .
3. To became a sorto f vehicle for national organizations such as FITA in order to raise funds for areas affected by the earthquake.
